Reviews of Alternative Fuels
Last Updated: July 13, 2008
An alternative to running your car on the High Priced gasoline of today is to convert your vehicle to use a Hydrogen Fuel Cell which has been proven to increase gas mileage, lower your fuel costs and reduce greenhouse gases.

This conversion, until recently, has been very expensive. The only way to get it done was to have a professional perform the conversion. This could cost you as much as $2,000. And for the Do-It-Yourself'rs, the conversion kits could sell comparatively expensive at around $500.

About six months ago, the process of converting H2O to HHO was made public and since then, there has been a multitude of conversion guides. These guides show you how to do the conversion yourself, even if you have little to no technical ability and using low cost commonly available materials.

Based on the popularity of finding an alternative to the High Priced Fossil Fuels, we decided to review a few of these new guides. The key criteria we used are: affordability of materials, speed of installation and ease of use of the guide.

The results we obtained were overall pleasantly surprising. This new technology actually does work and picking the right convesion guide will get you up and running on a hydrogen fuel cell in only a few hours.

We reviewed 9 Hydrogen Fuel Cell Conversion Guides - only 3 met our criteria:

  • Low Setup Costs - easily fits in a $100 Budget
  • Ease and Speed of Conversion - with our limited abilities, it still only took a few hours
  • Worthy Fuel Savings - provided up to a 40% increase in fuel efficiency

By far this one is the easiest to follow guide that we reviewed. Being the novices that we are, we needed only about half a day (give or take) to purchase all of the materials and get it fully installed and functional.

Of all the guides we reviewed, this is the one that assumes the installer is a complete novice with no previous knowledge of automobiles. When we had a question, our support ticket was answered with in an hour with accurate information to help us get up and running quickly.

Another good thing was that the materials that enable this technology are readily available and inexpensive. we were able to purchase all of the required materials for under $100. Given that this is a proven technology that increases your fuel efficiency by as much as 40%, you will recoup your installation costs in about a week.

This installation works for any gas or diesel powered van, car, truck or SUV, even your already fuel efficient gas-electric hybrids. This guide is geared for the novice and is our top pick for 2008.

July 2008 Update: There is now a promotion going on this site that gives you 4 free bonuses, and is temporarily slashing the price. So our recommendation is to order sooner rather then later.

The Verdict: Proven Technology, ease and speed of installation; automobile novices can handle the conversion; fuel savings up to 40% - Our Top Pick

2. Water Fuel Expert

Our second pick uses the same technology as our top pick. And we were impressed with their fast support, money-back guarantee and low conversion material costs.

This guide does not have any additional bonuses and the conversion material costs are slightly higher then our top pick, but still reasonable at under $150.

All around this is a great package which means you can be up and running enjoying massive fuel savings inexpensivily and quickly.

However, we did have to give it only 4 stars due to the higher material costs and slightly harder to follow instructions, as ease of use and cost of setup were some of our criteria so we had to knock off a star.

3. Fuel Trips

Fuel Trips is our third and final pick, and it actually includes 3 separate courses to help you create your own fuel efficiency system.

They report up to 65% fuel efficiency increases - and again, the guide was presented in a clear and easy-to-follow format.

The difference between this and the other two sites was simple, however - my support ticket was not responded to. A full, hands-on support system is vital if a relative "car novice" is to install the technology, and here unfortunately it just wasn't there.
